This workbook is designed to help children in Year 6 develop their mathematical skills to solve a range of problems, with hints, tips and strategies for success. Perfect for National Test preparation and revision.
This workbook is designed to help children in Year 6 use their mathematical skills to solve a range of problems, many of which are written in words rather than figures. The book is divided into sections, each covering a topic from the Numeracy Framework. Each section begins with an introduction which gives an idea of the sort of problems children are likely to encounter, helping them to understand what maths they need to use. This is followed by an example problem, which is worked through step-by-step in a flow chart. A hints and tips section gives useful ideas for completing the questions.
The questions themselves get harder as you go down the page. Section 1 questions are fairly straightforward and help practise skills; section 2 questions are slightly harder and will help children remember all the key points. The Challenge section contains the hardest questions, some of which involve children making up their own games and questions. Ideal for revision and homework.
Answers to all the questions are listed at the end of the book
