This is a highly versatile ABC game containing 26 pairs of jigsaw cards.  On the front you have an object (e.g. an apple) and the lower case letter (e.g. a).  On the reverse you have a lower and an upper case letter.

This game set can be used to learn the alphabet and to learn the letter sounds, helping you get your child ready for school.  As a teacher, I would recommend that children learn the sounds first because words are made with sounds and not letter names.

Note:
The letters 'x' is a difficult sound to pronounce and at the beginning of a word 'x' as in x-ray says it's letter name and not it's sound.  The letter 'q' is never used by itself, it is always used with 'u' like in 'queen'.   You can help young ones with this by saying that 'q' and 'u' are best friends and they always go together.
