• My child has been diagnosed as having Dyslexia can you help?
  Yes. I have used my skills to help many children who have dyslexia or dyslexic tendancies.  I can help with spelling techniques, memory problems and motivation.
   
• Do children enjoy their lessons?
  Children enjoy their lessons because I ensure that lessons are fun to suit the individual child and their learning style.
   
• How long will it take to see an improvement in reading and spelling ability?
  From past experience I have seen children improve from day 1. Some children take a little longer to grasp the concepts but in the main children will show improvements from 1 to 12 sessions.
   
• What teaching methods do you use?
  I use Phono-Graphix to help children with Literacy along with a range of multi-sensory methods and games. I believe that no one teaching method will work for all children, therefore I use a range of methods. “If it works use it, if it doesn’t change to something that does” 
   
• Will my child be expected to do homework?
  In general children will be asked to do homework. However this will assessed on a case by case basis and the homework will be tailored to the individual. Full support is given during the week via telephone for homework issues.
   
• When and where do the sessions take place?
  I am a mobile therapist during term time, so the sessions will take place in your own home. Intensive courses during school holidays will take place in Marchwood, Southampton.
   
• Do you provide intensive holiday courses?
  Yes intensive holiday courses are available, but book early to secure your holiday place as places go fast. Intensive courses run over 1 or 2 weeks.
